A planned community, or planned city, is any community that was carefully planned from from the start and is usually constructed in a previously undeveloped area. Overcrowding, poor sanitation, and deteriorating living conditions are some of the reasons to decongest industrialized urban cities to new and well planned towns which has all amenities to be self-sufficient.

Most towns and cities in the Philippines developed from Spanish era settlements without proper urban planning. With the growing population in urban centers, there is a need to develop new towns in order to spread the development to undeveloped areas.

Master-planned communities in the Philippines are nothing new.¬† In fact, Quezon City, one of the country’s biggest city and was once its capital, was a planned city by then President Manuel L. Quezon.

In recent years, the Philippines has seen real estate growth because its economy remained bullish and the inflow of dollars from OFW remittances. There are already several well-planned new communities throughout the county developed by top real estate developers.

Cavite is an ideal place to live since it’s a tourist hub, one of the most competitive cities in the Philippines, and accessible to Metro Manila via the CAVITEX. DOTC has also identified the Sangley Point as the site of the new main airport as extension of NAIA.

These are just some of the township projects in the Philippines and it looks like more will be developed in major cities in the country. The rise in the purchasing power of those working in the Buseinss Process Outsourcing (BPO) and dollar remittances from OFWs are major boost to the real estate industry. More Filipinos especially OFWs are recognizing that investing in real estate is a wise decision.
